I've just quit my job and I'm am planning to go to South Africa in a week or so. I want to be back in Hong Kong by Christmas with a PPL (private pilots license). Here is video footage of my first trial flight. I'm in the blue shirt in the left hand seat. The instructor told me just before take off that I was going to be doing it. I pushed on the accelerator, pulled the wheel up when at the correct speed and up we went. What a feeling. I've found my calling in life. With a flying instructor. ![]() The Cessna 172: the plane I fly. ![]() The trial flight. ![]() ![]() Various animals I witnessed in South Africa: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hey guys - Leng Jai DJ here. Thought I'd get back into this sad process of blogging since I'm feeling increasing like a saddo these days. Nah - only having a laugh. Quick sum up - around half a year ago left UK after finishing my degree and other qualifications. Decided that I needed some warm weather so came back to HK and immediately got a job with the Wall Street Institute. It was supposed to be a temp. job but I am actually really enjoying it and am loving the HK lifestyle so I don't really know what my next move will be. Saving up quite a bit of money and hoping to go to South Africa soon and do a PPL (private pilot's license which is what I have always wanted to do to see if flying is for me). I'm still young and want as many qualifications as I can in this ever increasingly competitive world (I already have 5 years of studying under my belt and 3 qualifications but I want more). To tell you the truth if money wasn't an object I would just study study. I want to learn Chinese if I have the time too. My work hours are pretty anti-social. I work from 12 - 9 and since I live in China ... ok Tai Po and work in Sha Tin it is quite hard to see people. HK is so busy and there is never any free time but when I do get some I'm usually at my club swimming or exercising. My work hours suck but my job can be very rewarding and enjoyable since I'm constantly interacting with adults and business people. It is much better than being stuck behind a desk all day. Anyway that is enough for now. Let's see if I keep this up. Probably not. Here are some photos: Christmas 2005: ![]() Dan doing what he does best, drinking and talking to beautiful women, um ... yeah. ![]() ![]() University graduation: ![]() ![]() In Cyprus: ![]() ![]() ![]() Wall Street party: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
